In the past 9 years I have self myself to be a PHP MYSQL Web Developer, I am fluent in PHP, MYSQL, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, Flash Integration, CMS, XHTML, XML and many more technologies as I continue to increase my knowledge day by day. I am living proof that you can teach your self anything and become whatever you work hard to be.

 I began learning HTML when I was 16 by creating pages with WYSIWUG editors and then analysing the HTML code and changing things and seeing what happened. I was instantly very interested in how I could manipulate page content and make some, well at the time, severely shocking websites. However I continued to learn.

After building a few static web pages and intergrating some third party guestbook applications and such like, I wanted more power and more control over my web pages, so I brought a book from SitePoint by Kevin Yank on how to create a Content Management System using PHP and MYSQL.

I read the book, a number of times and built the tutorial sites, while reading and practicing I found myself automatically ellaborating on the code examples and creating improvements to the systems I was building. I instantly fell in love with PHP, I found it easy to understand as a beginers language, and its advances in PHP 5 have helped me get up there with the big boys in the way of Object Orientated Programming.

After learning a lot of PHP I developed RetroPassion.Co.Uk, an E-commerce website for some friends, I then went on to create numorous websites for friends and friends of friends and so on, until I had enough examples to put together and good portfolio. This I did, and presented it to and number of employers.

I now work as a full time freelance web developer, I hope to one day work abroad and own my own developement company. I truly am a big fan of the internet.
